CLUB FIELDS
The club fields which are run by members and volunteers, offer discounts to members and are also open to the public. The facilities may be small but character abounds. The club fields offer back-to-basics skiing, with a friendly atmosphere, no queues, terrain for everyone and
fresh snow that can last untracked for days. They also have accommodation right on the mountain -not found at other ski resorts.
SnoWork provides transport
to Mt
Cheeseman, Broken River and Craigieburn ski areas. For group
transport and for ski packages and transport to other
South Island ski areas please enquire for a quote.
MT CHEESEMAN
Enjoy
a family atmosphere with plenty of scope for beginners and
intermediates. There are a good variety of sunny groomed
slopes and off-piste snow and no queues. Mt Cheeseman is
99 km or 1.5 hrs from Christchurch with a 12 km unsealed
access road through native beech forest, right to the lifts.
Lifts include 2 T-bars and a learners grip tow. Park features
include rails and quarter pipe. The main slopes are groomed
overnight. A new day lodge has a cafe, rental and repairs shop
and guest storage. There are two accommodation options.
Snowline lodge is located right on the slopes and offers
dinner, bed and breakfast with bunkroom accommodation. Forest
lodge is a self catering backpackers lodge 6km back down the
access road.
Elevation 1845 m with a vertical drop
of 293m.
Open from the beginning of July through to the end of September.

BROKEN RIVER
A
club field with 3 alpine bowls of varied rolling terrain.
110km or 1.5 hours drive from Christchurch. A goods lift
carries your gear from the car park while you walk 20 minutes
through native beech forest to the accommodation lodges.
Another 10 minutes walk carrying your skis or board and you
will make it to the to the access tow. Don't be put off - the
walk is beautiful, the view from the top is stunning and you
will enjoy your turns all the more. There is a day lodge in
the middle of the ski area, with a canteen selling snacks and
drinks. Vertical drop of 420m serviced by 3 electric
rope tows that go fast! and 2 learner tows. Elevation 1820m.
Some grooming is done on the lower slopes there are
rails and lots of natural terrain features.

CRAGIEBURN
A
club field that has achieved cult status, un-groomed slopes
with wide-open powder bowls and steep narrow chutes.
Craigieburn Valley offers something for everyone except
beginners. 1.5hrs from Christchurch with 4wd access road
through native beach forest followed by a 5 minute stroll to
the tows. A day lodge perched in the middle of the ski area
offers outstanding views, snacks and drinks. The accommodation
lodges offering dinner bed and breakfast with bunk rooms and
shared facilities. .Elevation 1811 m with a vertical drop of
500m over 100 hectares. 3 rope tows.

MT OLYMPUS
Let
us show you the Southern Alps best kept powder secret. Mt
Olympus has a wide south facing basin that traps light powder,
with varying terrain for intermediate to advanced skiers and
riders. Coupled with spectacular scenery and 4WD access, Mt
Olympus is an unforgettable adventure. 128 km or 2 hours
from Christchurch.There are 3 rope tows and 1 learners tow.
There is no grooming at Mt Olympus the snow condition is just
as mother nature intended. There is a lodge right in the
middle of the ski area, offering dinner, bed and breakfast
with shared bunk rooms, and a canteen selling snacks and
drinks. Elevation 1875 m with a 450m vertical drop over
60 hectares.
